What is a KPI briefing?
A KPI briefing is a short, regular written summary of a business's key metrics: which ones changed enough to matter, what the data shows about why, and what needs a decision. Unlike a dashboard, it chooses what to mention using thresholds, and a good one shows the evidence behind every number.
What goes in one
- Five to eight metrics you would act on, each compared with last week and a recent average.
- Only the changes that crossed a threshold or missed a target.
- Where each change came from (a channel, a plan), and what moved in the same week.
- References to the evidence: metric, dates, comparison and source.
Where Metrica fits
Metrica writes a weekly KPI briefing from Stripe, Google Analytics 4, Search Console, Google Sheets or CSV data. The comparisons are computed in code; the AI only words them, and any sentence with a number that isn't in its evidence is dropped.
Questions
How is it different from a dashboard?
A dashboard shows every number and leaves the reading to you. A briefing does the reading: it says which numbers changed, where the change came from and what needs attention.
